What to do BEFORE tryouts
- These 3 steps must be completed before attending tryouts or athlete will not be able to participate
What to Submit Online During Registration
You will submit the following documents during online registration for the club season:
- Proof of AZ Region membership (upload a screenshot the membership card or submit a PDF copy)
- Copy of birth certificate (only if first season competing for AZ Region club volleyball)
- USAV Medical Release Form
- MTBI & SafeSport signature pages
10 - 14 tryouts
DAY: SATURDAY NOV 2, 2024
TIME: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- 10-12s: 8:30-10:30 am (check in @ 8:15)
- 13-14s: 11:30-1:30 pm (check in @ 11:15)
COST: $15.00 (submitted at registration)
LOCATION: FLAGSTAFF ATHLETIC CLUB, EAST
15 - 18 tryouts
DAY: SATURDAY NOV 23, 2024
TIME: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- 15s: 8:30-10:30 am (check in @ 8:15)
- 16-18s: 11:30-1:30 pm (check in @ 11:15)
COST: $15.00 (submitted at registration)

Day of Tryouts
You will bring the following items with you to tryouts:
- Printed copy of birth certificate (only if first season competing for AZ Region club volleyball)
- Printed copy of USAV Medical Release Form
- Printed copy of MTBI & Safesport signature pages
- Digital/printed proof of AZ Region membership (can show digitally, print out not required)
- After tryouts: $600 - $1200 Deposit to be made if/when athlete makes a team (Bring cash, check, or pay through Zelle on the day of tryouts; see deposit amounts below in Season Fees)
Sequence of Events
- Starting 30 minutes before the tryout start time, drive using dirt road around the back of FAC East and drop athletes at the back door gym entrance (the door will be propped open).
- There may be a line of cars waiting; if dropping off, feel free to navigate around the line to entrance to gym.
- Athletes will drop printed items off at registration tables, receive a name tag and number, and be able to try on gear samples (jerseys, sweatshirts, warm-ups, etc.). They will warm-up and begin tryouts promptly at the start times listed.
- Pick up your athletes along the same dirt road in one single-file line. Start forming this line at 30 minutes before the end time of the tryout listed below. (Notice - the line of cars will be long.)
- Upon receiving news if your athlete makes a team, athletes will leave the gym and find their vehicle. While in your vehicle, you'll receive an email with the contract to sign and offer to accept. (Once you accept the offer, it will ask you to double-check/confirm your athlete's sizing information.)
- Coaches will walk up to vehicles to collect the tryout deposit. After submitting your deposit and speaking with a coach, athletes may leave.
- We will work as efficient as possible, but expect to leave 30-minutes to 1-hour after the end times listed below.
- By the end of the tryout day, please electronically sign and submit your contract with Ascent Volleyball (Adobe Acrobat Sign).
- Depending on the team, you may also have to-do list items for upcoming travel tournaments/hotels that need to be addressed on tryout day.
- We will send a follow-up email with to-do list items and practice schedules for the month of December.
fundraising
Club volleyball is expensive so we do our best to give every athlete the opportunity to raise the funds to help them play! Ask us how you can raise money for the upcoming season.
practice player positions
If your athlete cannot commit to travel for the season but does want to tryout for a "practice" position please "register for tryouts" and tryout with her age group. If your athlete makes a team as a practice player, the cost is $1500.00 for the entire season*.
*practice players do not receive discounts for paying in full or having a sibling.
