Private + Small Group Lessons
We're happy to offer additional opportunities for athletes to get court time and specific, focused feedback from our coaching staff. This is open to players who are already playing with Ascent for the regular season, and for athletes new to our club.
Private Lessons vs Group Lessons
Ascent Club Policy: If you are an active travel player for the 2024-2025 Travel Season, you cannot participate in private lessons with your head or assistant coaches during the entire duration of the season. If your head or assistant coach is leading a group lesson for the whole club you may register/attend.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are one-on-one lessons with a coach.
If you want to invite another player to join you, one player will register/pay for the private lesson and the other player(s) that wants to join will split the cost with them after. (Reimbursement happens outside of Crossbar.)
Private lessons are 4 players or less; if you'd like to have more than 4 players attend a private lesson, reach out to taylor.flagstaffascent@gmail.com. There's an additional cost for 5+ players to compensate for the additional planning and feedback required.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are small groups of players working on a specific skill with 1-2 coaches.
The price listed in Crossbar is an individual (per player) cost.
We have a minimum amount of players needed to afford the court time/coaches; if we do not meet the minimum players needed (3 or more), we will communicate with you at least 6-8 hours before the start of the session and provide a full refund.
If you try to register and the small group lesson is full, feel free to email taylor.flagstaffascent@gmail.com and see if there's a possibility of joining the session.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect at a private lesson with a coach?
A coach will be on a court ready to go with a full ball cart. They will ask you what your goals are and what you'd like to get out of the one-hour session with them. They will lead you through drills with lots of repetitions to work on the goals you bring. The more specific you can be with your coach (about how you want to improve), the better. We recommend showing up 5-10 minutes early. Wear athletic clothes and bring a water bottle.
How do we split the cost of a private lesson with another player/family?
We recommend discussing a private lesson time that works best for all the players involved (up to four players only). Then, one of the players/family will register on Crossbar to hold the time with the coach and pay the full fee. Then, the other players/families will Venmo/Zelle/use cash to split the total cost of the session with all the player/family who originally registered/paid. Private lessons range from $85-95 dollars depending on the experience level of the coach; so splitting this 2-4 ways makes this a more affordable option.
What can I expect at a group lesson?
One to two coaches will be on a court ready to go with 1-2 full ball carts. They will let you know what the goals of the session are. They will lead you through drills with lots of repetitions to work on the specific skill of the session. We recommend showing up 5-10 minutes early. Wear athletic clothes and bring a water bottle.
